Learning Asian culture and simple Chinese is an excellent pathway for your children to gain more global perspectives as pioneers and early access to future international opportunities, in addition to lots of fun, joy, and pride throughout the exciting learning journey! Fun Asian culture and basic Chinese are taught through group games, arts and crafts, songs, movements, Chinese chess, Chinese board games, stories, books, and more! Raising Hands

Instructor: Ms. Wei Song

Ms. Wei Song is a native Mandarin speaker born in Beijing, China, where she grew up and graduated from the Beijing Chinese Herbal Medicine University in Beijing.

 

Ms. Song is passionate about teaching and has many years of experience. She taught children songs, arts and crafts, and food making as a Substitute Teacher and Aftercare Instructor for the Auxiliary Program at the Montessori School of Durham during 2018-21. She organized Story Time programs at the Chapel Hill Library, Durham County Library, and the Kidzu Museum in Chapel Hill during 2018-19. During summer seasons, she teaches Chinese culture and stories at the Kidzu museum summer programs since 2019. In addition, Ms. Song works as a private tutor for children of various age groups. Ms. Song has been Durham Academy Extended-day LS staff since 2021.
